Savor the Sound presents: The Kids can really play Jazz

Come to ‘WING IT’ @ 5510 University Way NE from 2 to 6:30pm on Saturday November 5th (tickets)

Witness the wonder of what happens when the youth are given the gifts of the arts. ticket here (savor the sound kids stage)

2pm Pre-show marvel added as kids from the autistic program from the Musical Minds Piano Studio on Mercer Island display their magical gifts for your ears.

Opening at 3pm is the ‘New Works Ensemble’ (Seattle Jazz Ed) directed by the world renowned musician/composer Wayne Horvitz offering a

15 piece big band, middle-high school ages. Second at 3:50pm is the Raindrop Quartet newly fathered by the great tradition of Clarence Acox

giving Jazz straight ahead with  their own modern flair, ages (14yrs). Third  at 4:35pm comes the Amazing Ellis Bros (8-12 yrs) a home schooled

trio studying at the Seattle Drum School under group direction from the prolific composer/Sax phenom Marc Fendel as they portray note for note

Miles Davis solos and so much more. To end the Savor the sound youth performances at 5:20pm will be ‘Applesauce Theater’  a very young troupe of play writes who self produced their own musical filled with life, humor, and improvisation called “1,2,3

To add some spice to the potpourri will be Sophia Fridrich  (8 yrs) daughter of Musician/Director of Savor the Sound  Eric Fridrich offering one

of her original songs performed just voice and high hat with a message worthy for the world to hear. Come join the youth music movement!!!
